“You are the answers to the questions I hold captive in my mind. The
whisper I’ve been following but I could never find.” I wrote this quote
recently and I was never sure what it truly meant to me then recalling a
poem I wrote my first time in recovery I think I finally know the
reason…God
Here is that poem.
A Wish
I wish for you some happy times
for lots of love and few good-byes
I wish your recovery safe and secure
Our pain and sadness too much to endure
We've all made mistakes
Trust in God our pain he will take
Please God bring us your blessing from above
To follow the path of righteousness and love
I wish for you a path that's right
with faith in God we'll win this fight
we've already failed, we've already lost
We've already paid way over cost
To overcome this sadness
and leave our lives of complete madness
I wish your addiction remains in the past
The gift of wisdom will prevent us from relapse
When we finally remove our shells
We can escape our lives of living hell
To once again love and be loved
To appreciate our blessings from above
So, take to heart the things heard, and said
because, there IS hope to put addiction permanently to bed
What will be ..... will be
But...
"Just For Today" I'm an addict who set myself free
